The year of giving....

Hey Guys! So it seems that I am not a very good blogger because I can not seem to keep up with actually blogging. Though it really is super fun! So I will try harder (even though Im sure I have said that in several posts). Anyways, to wrap up the half of last year that I did not account for this is what is going on in the Greene household.... So Knoxx David Greene decided to be like his mom and be fashionably late for his entrance into the world. He was definitely on his time schedule. He was due Oct. 1, 2012 but decided to grace us with his apperance on Oct. 5th at 0051 via CSection after making his mommy push for 3.5 hours. Little man had been playing jump rope with his umbilical cord and we were not able to get him out so to the OR we went. Thankfully through God's amazing grace he was born a beautiful or I should say handsome healthy perfect 7lbs 13ozs and 20.5 inches long. That first cry... PRICELESS!!!

We spent about 5 days in the hospital (long days): went in labor on Oct 4th (Granny Martha's Bday) and left on Monday Oct. 8. The road to recovery after a csection is HARD!! And ontop of that breastfeeding is HARDER!! But oooh so worth it in the end. I wanted to quit many times in those first 8 weeks but so glad we made it past the hurdles. Now Knoxx is 4.5 months old and breastmilk is all he has had. And man the money we have saved! Not to mention the milk storage we have... Im a regular moo cow! LOL! I love the time we get with one another when I feed him because it is only something him and I share! Its absolutely amazing what our bodies can do! From the beginning I have taken breastfeeding in the 3 month increments so almost to the next marker: 6 months! Side note.... I have the best husband in the world! After the csection and coming home my husband truly was the man of the house! Making dinner, cleaning the house, doing laundry, changing diapers, and the list goes on and on! He was and still is the best husband and daddy to our sweet son! Son... just love saying it! Not to mention I am very thankful for my family too during the early days of recovery. My mom was a saint and would come down to help as much as possible and dad was a HUGE help making Coco feel loved when Im sure she felt a little out of place with our new addition. And my sister, who is still trying to gt use to the idea of changing diapers (she has a rude awakening coming when food is introduced in a few short weeks... LOL) but just loving on our sweet Knoxx. Plus lunches brought over by my mother-in-law, and visits by so many family members! OOh and not to mention my sweet cousin Steffany took her time out and did Knoxx's newborn pictures and did an amazing job!! (Perfect Timing Images!!)

Oh the holidays! The holidays were amazing because I got to spend EVERYONE of them with my sweet little man not missing a moment. I didnt have to return back to work til the Friday after Christmas and then I was off for New Years! We celebrated and celebrated more!! SO fun!

So now that we are pretty much up to speed, hopefully I can keep up with this. So much to look forward to this year! The best is watching our Knoxx grow! So rewarding! Thank you thank you Jesus! Please continue to keep him safe and healthy and grow into a child of yours! -Amen

So something I wanted to make myself aware of this year is giving back! So I called this a year of Giving! (Though it needs to be done every year, every day, every second ) I wanted to make myself accountable this years by blogging about this and doing something EVERY month. January I did Locks of Love, donation sent along with about 11inches of my hair to make a wig for one of my precious baldies I get to work with daily! And now we are onto February and its mid Feb and I dont have an organization.... So let me think... send me a message if yo have one so I can hopefully help out that cause at some point in the year! And thanks in advance!

As always, please keep my family in your prayers!

Love ya!

23 WEEKS!! Wahoo!

Ok say its been a minute since my last post and decided I needed to update. Today I am officially 23weeks. Soo excited to think in like 17 or so weeks I will be holding my little man in my arms! I can not wait! He is moving like crazy now! I love it! Jeff was even able to feel him for the first time yesterday. Knoxx is a growing boy. We are going tomorrow for a follow up ultrasound since Knoxx didn't want to be cooperative at the first anatomy scan so hopefully tomorrow we can actually get a good profile picture. We were able to get good measurements of everything else and everything else looks GREAT! Such amazing and glorious news. God is so Great! I am completely humbled by him and his miracle he has given Jeff and I. We look forward to our adventures ahead. My next actually dr appointment is at the end of June, actually the day I leave from Camp Sunshine. I will be doing the glucose test! Slightly nervous, because I love me some sweets. Trying to be more careful about the amount of sugar I intake but its really hard. I've ALWAYS loved SWEETS! Anyways, keep your prayers coming that I pass the glucose test with flying colors.

On other news, Jeff is about finish with painting Knoxx's room. We went with a tan color, very neutral and well coordinating with what we have picked for his room decor. We have decide to do his room in a sports theme. Yes we may be starting early to influence our little man, but we promise to always allow him to choose and be happy. I mean so what if we are trying to produce the next Peyton Manning :)

Next on my agenda is Camp Sunshine: Junior Week. As I am very sad to say because of my state of pregnancy I am unable to attend MDA:  Camp Walk-n-Roll; I will be attending Junior week  of Camp Sunshine! Im looking so forward to this as I can not wait to see these children I have the pleasure to work with on a daily basis be able to be normal children without a care in the world in such a FUN and ENJOYABLE atmosphere.

And then to rap up this blog, looking forward to a trip to the beach that will soon be approaching. Much needed! Soo looking forward to the sand and sun!

Thank you Lord for our Precious Knoxx! Amen!

Count down to gender reveal....

Okay so we are getting sooo EXCITED!! A week from today we will be with many of our family members and friends to reveal if we are having a little boy or a little girl! Either way we truly could care less, we are just wanting a healthy and happy baby!

But here raises the question everyone keeps asking me.... "What do you think/feel that you are having??"
Ahhhhh.... IDK! Literally, Im not sure. I have a 50/50 shot either way. Ill be honest I think my gut says its a boy because I think that's what many people think , the chinese calendar screams boy, and there are a ton of my co-workers having little boys in the next coming months. So yes I think I may being joining that band wagon. However, I did have a dream about us having a precious little girl with dark brown hair. So who truly knows, except for the man upstairs who has blessed us with this wonderful gift!

So place your guess, and soon to find out.... BOY or GIRL!!! Info coming Saturday April 21st, 2012!!

6 weeks and counting....

6 weeks and this is what is going on inside my body! How amazing! God is so good! To think that Jeff and I together with God's grace made this wonderful baby! Though the thoughts of last time sometimes sneek on me, I feel completely different and optimistic about our outcome. Baby Greene is already loved soooo much! Cant wait to get to the doctor in 22 days to see and hear our sweet baby's heart!

So cravings and aversions thus far:

Cravings:

(hashbrown casserole)

Aversion:

Other than being tired and just wanting to lay around ALL day Im feeling pretty good. Nausea comes and goes, and it takes me forever to figure out what I actually want to eat! Please continue to keep myself and baby Greene in your prayers! We are soo thankful for everyone in our life!

Ringing in the New Year... 2012 here we come!

Okay so it has been a hot minute since I have last posted a blog. So much has happened and now we are approaching a new year!! And also Lady GaGa is on TV as I am typing this!!! This time last year my hubby and I were standing in the middle of the street in Times Square! What an amazing time!!

So now perhaps we should talk resolutions.... Well as many people know my resolution last year was to lose weight! And now a year later and I am 30lbs lighter and feeling great! Though I would still like to get down 15 more lbs I am definitely a lot happier with the person I see in the mirror. Its definitely a work in progress everyday. Jeff's resolution was to ride 5000 miles on his bike! And boy did he complete his goal! So proud of him. I also survived my very first triathelon. So whats the resolution to committ myself to this year..... well our first one together is to find a good church home for us! I am soo excited about this and so ready to get so close to my Lord and savior! I know with this alone 2012 is going to be an amazing year! We are actually going to start with Tara Baptist Church in the morning. Looking forward to hearing God's word!

The next resolution we are making together is to save some MOOLAH!!!

Lastly, though we are not stressing ourself over "trying" we are definitely giving the glory to God and his timing with his plan for when we will expand our family. Some of you know but many of you don't, 2011 was a rough year in the fact that we faced a miscarriage in the middle of the year. And as we are aproaching the beginning of the new year and what would have been a due date I stand in faith when I know God has his perfect plan for Jeff and I. Prayer's for our future family are always appreciated and thanked!

Happy New Year to everyone! Make 2012 the best year yet, place your faith in our Lord and know that he is ALWAYS with you, even when you feel alone! Be the best Wife/husband, daughter/son, friend, and Christain that you can be. Help out those who need help and never take a single second for granted!!

PS.... last resolution... to keep up on this blog! And to get somemore followers!

My embarking stories on a road to a new me!

So from my last post I added into my resolution to become a thinner healthier me! I know a resolution many make at the beginning of every new year but by Feb, many have fallen of the band wagon. However, I have not! If anything I am more motivated than ever! I am down 10lbs from the start of my journey (Which was probably mid way through the second week of Jan.). I am still at the beginning of my journey but I am still very excited! I am not only trying to get down to the weight and size Ive always wanted to be but I am training for Atlanta Iron Girl (Which consists of 1/3 mile swin, 18 mile bike ride, and a 3 mile run). I still have alittle anxiety when I discuss it but I am more than sure I will be prepared for it.

However, Aflac is not sponsoring it this year, Im very proud to be apart of this event with my workplace behind me. I am even more excited about my wonderful peers that I work with that will be doing it with me.... They are (along with my wonderful husband and family, and CANDICE :) my true motivators. Thank you Stacey, Kelly, Katie, Brittany, Kari, Lauri, and more Im sure. We are going to do amazing in may and we totally make 3 East look good! What a wonderful place to work and wonderful people!!!

Now to be alittle honest I think my biggest set back is this.....

You got it..... the good ole bathroom scale! I find myself getting on it atleast once a day!!! Arrrrggh!! Not healthy I know! Im working on this! Im going to try an avoid the scale and only get on it weekly. That way I can stop focusing on the numbers one by one and hopefully just be happy with the way I feel and they way my clothes feel on me! :) Wish me luck!!!

So since Im kind of all over the place I will talk alittle more about Iron Girl... well mainly just my bike :)

This is very much like mine, but the gold is like a baby blue/silver and there is pink fuji writing!  I love it! It is sooo  pretty! Ive only really taken if for one 10 mile bike ride with my husband. However, I know there will be many more. I just have to get over my fear of falling. Crazy I know, but I truly am accident prone! I mean when we went to performance and found the bike... I went on a test ride in the store of my new bike.... a took out  a whole pilet of helments! And got a nice knot on my chin! Talk about embarrassing!!! And to make matters worse we couldnt even get the security tape so we could atleast turn my embarrassment into like $10,000. Talk about bummer!!!

Another journey I have taken is at work. I have started to charge. For those of you who arent in the nursing field, that means Ive been the Charge nurse for some of the shifts I work. Scary at first but I feel like Im slowly getting the hang of it, plus Im really excited that we are getting the Resource role back! That will help the charge nurse role out alot!!! So wish me luck here too!! :)

Soooooo verizon has decided to join the new era by finally getting the iphone!! And I am sooo excited! I just got my email today saying mine was being shipped!!! Dear iphone, please hurry and get here!!! Thanks! Amanda

Well as the rain keep falling the sleepier I get, even though I didnt wake up til after noon today! Ive been a pretty big bum, other than the fact that I did 1.5 hrs of cardio! With mucho thanks to Dr. Oz, Ellen D., and Rachel Ray for keeping me entertained to keep on running!!! You guys rock!!! PS Ellen Id love to be on your show after I reach my goal.... just saying.... incase you read this! :)

Until next time..... keep running :)
